We Welcome These Baby Halloween Costumes Into the Rookie Moms Hall of Fame – Rookie Moms

by Vaibhav Sharda

Baby Halloween costumes are out, and they’re looking pretty wicked. With a multitude of colors, styles and sizes to choose from, the options are endless. However, when picking out a themed costume for your child, there are a few things you want to look for in a baby Halloween costume. The first is whether the baby Halloween costume is comfortable and fits well. You don’t want your baby to be uncomfortable while wearing his or her costume, so make sure it fits correctly before you buy it. The second thing you want to look for in a baby Halloween costume is a high quality costume that is made from quality materials. You want to avoid those cheap baby Halloween costumes that come in shoddy fabrics that are going to rip if you’re not careful

Pregnant women love scary movies, and Halloween costumes (and baby Halloween costumes) are no exception! While there are tons of fun baby Halloween costume ideas out there, some are just plain creepy. Let’s take a look at some of the best and worst baby Halloween costumes for 2016.

It’s no secret that the Halloween season is a fussy time for new parents and newborn babies alike. Unlike trick-or-treating which can be a fun activity in a group with friends and family, Halloween has a reputation for being a scary night for little ones.

I’m not sure how I came up with this particular assignment, since Heather’s family is by far the most Star Wars-obsessed among us. But, while she’s having fun at Camp Mighty in Palm Springs, I’m showing off the beautiful baby Princess Leia outfit that our friend Ha created for her kid.

Despite the fact that Sophie (below) is now eight years old, I had to post a photo of her as a baby “posing” as a sea cucumber. Her mother also sent me the image that acted as motivation. It’s fantastic!

Reader Sarah gave me a photo of her handmade zebra costume, which I like since my daughter Scarlett was a DIY Zebra when she was a child, but I don’t have any pictures of her in it. Isn’t Sarah’s no-sew job fantastic?

Colleen Cunningham sent us this R2D2 outfit that she fashioned out of a white sleepsack with R2’s buttons on the chest and cap. Very adorable, particularly when worn with older sister’s Yoda costume from the shop.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed costumes. Please feel free to post photos from last year on our Facebook page!
